FST UIN Jakarta's Laboratory Transports Hazardous Waste from Practical Work to TPS as Proof of Support for UIN Jakarta's Green Campus
As part of its Green Campus commitment, the laboratories of FST UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta conducted a hazardous waste (B3) transfer throughout July 2025. The waste came from student practicums and research activities in chemistry and biology labs, which often generate chemical residues, used rinse water, and leftover test samples. Though limited in volume, accumulated waste can still pose a serious environmental threat.
The waste was transported in partnership with licensed waste management provider PT. Jalan Hijau, with full attention to Safety, Health, and Environmental Sustainability (K3) standards. All types of waste — liquid, solid, from practicums or research — were logged by lab technicians, including their type and volume. Research waste was placed in personal containers labeled with the researcher's name. The next transport is scheduled for August 6, 2025.
