The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta organised a hybrid event themed Testimonials, Book Review and Seminar: Panasonic Gobel - Pancasila Philosophy, National Industrialisation, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation, on Tuesday, 17 June 2025. This activity took place in the Theatre Room, 2nd floor of the FST Building, and was attended by various national figures, academics, and industry players from within and outside the country.

A number of key speakers in this event included Dr. (H.C.) Rachmat Gobel (Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives and successor of Gobel Group), Dr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno (Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia 2019-2024), Dr. Ing. Ilham Akbar Habibie, Dipl.-Ing., MBA (Chairman of PII), Prof. JM. Muslimin, MA, Ph.D. (Professor of Political Science of Islamic Law at UIN Jakarta), Prof. Dr. Ir. Syopiansyah Jaya Putra (Professor of Management Information System at UIN Jakarta), Husni Teja Sukmana, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Dean of FST UIN Jakarta), and the author of the book, Nashihin Masha.

In his speech, Rachmat Gobel emphasised the importance of national industrial development rooted in the values of Pancasila. According to him, industry is not just about profit, but about building the character and dignity of the nation. He conveyed the philosophy of the Gobel Group which is likened to flowing water-every innovation and product must bring benefits to the wider community.

Meanwhile, Dean of FST, Husni Teja Sukmana, stated that this event was a starting point to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry. He emphasised the importance of synergy in research and technology development as a joint effort in driving the nation's progress.

Nashihin Masha in his presentation outlined how the principles of Pancasila were applied by Thayeb M. Gobel in building Panasonic Gobel Group. He explained the seven basic principles of the company that reflect the noble values of Pancasila, ranging from devotion to the country, integrity, to the spirit of innovation and gratitude.

Prof Syopiansyah also highlighted the implementation of national values in the Gobel corporation through the principles of silih asih, silih asah, and silih asuh. He added that efforts to transfer technology and reduce import dependence are clear evidence of the spirit of national independence echoed by the company's founder.

Prof JM Muslimin emphasised that the economy should be built on values and a clear direction, not just numbers. According to him, Pancasila serves as the ethical and philosophical foundation in building a dignified and sustainable national industry.

This event is a strategic forum that bridges the worlds of higher education, industry, and public policy. With a strong ideological foundation in the values of Pancasila, this event places students, academics, and industry players as key actors in driving the transformation of the national economy towards an independent and competitive future.
